It’s an honour to receive an invitation to attend a wedding. It means that you mean a lot to that person, and you were a part of the guest list. You feel excited to be a part of the event, and you wish to look your best since there will be lots of other attendees. Before you get too excited, these are some of the possible mistakes you might make.
Not following the theme
Usually, couples have a theme to follow for the wedding. You need to follow the theme since everyone else will. The theme will probably be in the invitation letter. If not, you can clarify with the couple when you RSVP. You want to ensure that you don’t look left out during the event because you’re the only one without the appropriate clothing.
Outshining the groom and bride
You want to look great, but not to the point that you look better than the couple. If you know that the groom is going to wear white, you can’t wear the same colour. You might even decide to step it up by adding more layers of fabric or an intricate design. There’s nothing wrong with choosing made to measure suits if you want to feel comfortable with what you’re going to wear. Make sure that you know what the groom will wear, and don’t try to be the centre of attention.
Being too lazy
Although it’s not a good thing for you to wear intricate clothing, you can’t do the opposite and be lazy. You also need to look your best. Find appropriate clothes that will make you presentable in front of other people. You don’t need to exaggerate your accessories, though.
Not prioritising comfort
A wedding might look great in photos, but in reality, they’re not that comfortable. You need to be at the wedding venue for several hours. You also have to go to the reception area for the party. You will feel exhausted once the wedding day is over. Therefore, you need to feel comfortable with what you’re wearing. Choose a fabric that isn’t itchy. If the wedding is outdoors and it’s summertime, look for a suit made from a thin cloth. If it’s winter, you can find one that’s a bit thicker to protect you from the biting cold.
Not bringing extra clothes
Make sure that you have extra clothing in your car so that you can change whenever you don’t feel comfortable anymore. You can lose the suit if the formal part of the wedding is over. You can dance freely or interact with the other guests.
Weddings can be fun, but you need to be careful in deciding what you’re going to wear; otherwise, you will feel self-conscious throughout the event. You might want to go home even when the party isn’t over yet. You need to be there because you accepted the invitation to join the celebration.
